Vahur Eggert, who has been a production manager for over 30 years, is going to retire by the end of the year. This is a serious event for the company, however Hekotek management is optimistic. The change of generations is a natural process in both people’s and enterprises’ life. The younger generation always comes with more energy, with a more up-to-date approach, which means more dynamics and movement ahead.
Heiki Lukha – new production manager, is a person, who is relatively new for Hekotek. A little over a year he worked here, having started as a paint shop foreman. On the one hand, this allowed him to keep a fresh look at the working processes of the company. On the other hand, a year is long enough to understand the essence Hekotek work, accept the company’s values and win respect of the team.
According to Heiki, his goal is to further improve the efficiency of Hekotek production planning. Vahur agrees with this. Here are his own comment on his experience in the company, as well as the vision of Hekotek future:
– I have worked at AS Hekotek for 32 years. During these years, I witnessed a variety of changes and challenges at the company. For about 10 years, the Hekotek modestly conquered the domestic market, gradually, step by step expanding internationally. The beginning was not easy for all of us. There was a lack of experience and suitable equipment. But on the other hand, these were incredibly interesting and turbulent times. Development progressed very quickly. Drawings and work time calculations gradually migrated to computers.
At the turn of the millennium, the owners decided to build their own production facilities in Jüri. This is the third Hekotek production site I can remember. The move and launch of production took a tremendous amount of effort. However, production volumes grew, and about ten years later, the facility was expanded. The new division already included a sheet laser, a tube laser, and a long-bending machine. A fully competitive production facility! It seemed like my dream of Hekotek reaching €100 mln in turnover was just around the corner. But the Russian-Ukrainian war became …
I thank everyone who accompanied me on this long journey; with whom I shared both joys and worries. I wish the next generation continued hard work and the fulfilment of my dream of a turnover of €100 mln!
