Venetzuela forest (Caribbean pine)Hekotek has signed a contract for three log sorting lines delivery to Venezuela. The contracts were signed due to assistance of our sales representative Scantec Industrieanlagen GmbH – the general contractor of three turn-key sawmills for PDVSA (Petroleo de Venezuela).
The new sawmills will be constructed close to the large industrial city Puerto Ordaz next to the Orinoco river. In this area there area state-owned 460 000 ha plantation forests of Caribbean pine. The sawmills are to process some 40 000 m³ timber per shift.
One of the three log sorting lines has already been sent to Venezuela, two others will follow during the next months.
AS Hekotek is responsible for engineering design and manufacture of equipment for log sorting, log feeding, sawn timber sorting, as well as equipment for transporting and collecting shavings, chips and sawdust. At the same time the renewal of existing rack saw log feeding is being conducted.
Total cost of the equipment delivered by Hekotek will make up about 4 million Euro, the delivery will start in spring 2007. Based on saw device HewSaw R250 with estimated annual production capacity 150 000 m³ of sawn timber, the sawmill is to be launched in autumn 2007. Project is financed by entrepreneurs of Russia and EU, its initiators being Dutch timber merchants.
