As a result of long-term sales process AS Hekotek has concluded contracts for the delivery of sawmill equipment to South America, to a ‘small’ (with 3,5 million inhabitants) country Uruguay, where in the Nothern part of this country, in a town Tacuarembo, a modern sawmill complex is planned to be started-up in 2016.

Tacuarembo is a town with about 55 000 inhabitants – it is the 8th largest town in Uruguay, situated ca 400 kms North from Montevideo, capital of Uruguay. Not far from the town there is an area of planted forests with rich wooden resources, which is sufficient also for supplying of this new sawmill with raw material.

In this project Hekotek co-operates with Finnish partners known from earlier deliveries – Veisto OY, i.e. producer of HewSaw sawlines and Valon Kone OY, i.e. producer of wood debarkers.
Within this project Hekotek delivers a log sorting line, a log in-feed to the sawline, a combi-line for sorting of wet and dry sawn timber and a conveyor system for collecting, chipping and storage of sawing residues.

A part of the equipment is already ready for delivery at the production site of Hekotek. End of summer or in autumn of 2015 Hekotek will send about 90 sea-containers with the equipment. A new sawmill complex will be erected under supervision of Hekotek specialists with the sawmill being started up first half of 2016. Planned production capacity is to make up 150 000 m³ of ready sawn timber (pinus radiata).
