Iisveden Metsä OY, located ~40 km SW from Kuopio, has ordered a new green board handling line from Heinola Sawmill Machinery Inc. who is supplying the line together with its sister company Hekotek Ltd.

The new line will be installed in the sawmill next to the current sorting line. When the new line will be taken into use in the sawmill, the current line will begin serving there as the sorting line of dry sawn timber. The capacity of the new line will be approximately 150,000 m³ of wet lumber a year.

The new sorting line will include features such as automated camera-based sorting and equipment to allow for stepless cutting functions. Also a push-chain type sorting conveyor will be there to sort the materials into 20 vertical bins. The stick-stacking line is equipped with an additional hoist and an automated stick distribution system, containing 12 stick cassettes, as well as a stick storage system located between the dry sorting line and the stick-stacking line.

Engineering of the line is already under the way, and the installations will take place in the last quarter of 2018. Production on the new line will start in the first quarter of 2019.
