Modernisation of the sawmill technological cycle started as far back as in 2004 was successfully completed in spring 2008 by construction and launch of wooden pellet production mill. Thus, a full closed run with environment-friendly and economically efficient waste recycling was fixed at the sawmill.

AS Hekotek, as a main contractor of the project, carried out engineering and completing the production line, as well as delivery of all the equipment for the pellet plant: 2 pellet presses by Andritz, hourly capacity 3.5 ton, as well as 2 drum-type dryers of Hekotek own production. Current annual capacity of the pellet plant makes up about 50 000 ton. The pellets are exported to Belgium.

In the nearest future pellet production volume is to get increased as much as by over 30% – the third production line is being installed at the mill. The new line is equipped with Andritz pellet press (similar to the two currently operating presses) and Hekotek dryer – of belt (conveyor) type.

The new type of the dryer is supposed to improve the quality of the pellets produced. Besides, it is to ensure reasonable and economically efficient use of the thermal power surplus worked out by the sawmill’s boiler house. The new line launch is planned for November 2009.

One should note that this is the first experience of Hekotek as far as manufacture of the new dryer type is concerned. Definitely, it counts in favour of great trust put by the customer in the equipment supplier. The trust is based on successful long-term cooperation of the Estonian manufacturer and the Russian sawmill – first Hekotek delivery to Sawmill 25 was dated year 2003. In monetary terms the total volume of Hekotek deliveries makes up some 14 mln EUR, which includes the following equipment: log sorting line, log feeding system, green sorting line, sawmill waste removing conveyors, etc.

As emphasised by Heiki Einpaul, the Director General of Hekotek, it is very important for the company that all their customers are satisfied with the equipment produced and delivered by Hekotek. “We grow and make progress together with our customers. Our power is in cooperation!”
